Make a Decision

by Sarah Rose

Are you fed up with being fed up and are ready to take your life to the next level but something is holding you back and you’re just not sure what the next step should be? I can relate, I’ve been there too, and once I learned the five emotions that lead to making significant changes in your life, I decided to decide and never looked back. Welcome to Week Two of my segment 7 Core Principals for Getting To The Top in Your Network Marketing Business. You can download the ebook here for free: https://sarahroseglobal.lpages.co/freebie/?fbclid=IwAR0fdlfg-dvWI9NO7q8Doz4tTi7w5YF3H0H-uMp7lv1CZ6atY357ICp6KnI. Here’s the video with more in depth information about deciding to decide and why it’s critical to do so in order to create success https://youtu.be/ZDl5rvMGmwU. And make sure to read through today’s blog post where I will be breaking down the second core principal: Making a Decision.

In the last four years working as an entrepreneur, I’ve discovered why so few people ever get to the top in business, and why they quit too soon (if they ever really get started in the first place). Here’s what’s missing: not many people are willing to make a decision and see it through. Feeding fear with a lack mentality creates a comfort zone so dense that the mere thought of making a shift seems daunting. To me, the opposite of decision is complacency, where nothing alters for the better, anxiety worsens, and we find ourselves spiraling out of control wondering when the next shoe is going to drop. Can you relate? Not to worry if the answer is yes, because figuring out which one of these emotions resonate most with you will help you smash through that zone of paralysis and step into your own magnificence.

  1. Disgust. This was the most powerful motivator for me, and the catalyst for going deep into personal growth and development by devouring all the library books and taking all the free courses I could get my hands on; then taking massive and immediate action on what I had just learned. I wasn’t a training junkie, nor did I get stuck in analysis paralysis having to learn every little detail before I got to work. Our financial crisis didn’t afford me the luxury of time or of getting into my own head, questioning myself or overthinking what I needed to do next. I had to get up and get to work even on the days when the crashing waves of depression and anxiety washed over me; I had to take control of my emotions and of my family’s financial future. I ran from the pain, it lit a fire under me and although I made lots of mistakes, I learned from them, and slowly but surely the successes started to stack up. When you get totally disgusted with your life, your failures or your disappointments, only then will you take action to change your life for the better. And girl let me tell you how I’ve been there: praying that the power wouldn’t be switched off, that the insurance payment would go through, and that even if the rent check cleared we would still have enough left over for groceries. I did not need someone to motivate me: I sought out the information I needed to formulate my plan, and I still act on it all day every damn day to leave that pain far in the past, bringing us closer to the pleasure of achieving the goal of time and financial freedom. What about you, are you sick and tired? If the answer is yes, then GOOD! Pull the plug and make a decision that you’re going to do that thing you’ve been putting off.
  2. Resolve. You can’t start a business to “give it a try,” to “dip a toe in,” or “see what happens.” Decide to dedicate the next three to five years to getting to the top. Get determined and use your emotional muscles to push you past fear and well out of your comfort zone, because that’s where all great things happen anyway. I mentioned in my last blog post that Joseph Campbell once said “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.” So ask yourself, what is it that you fear the most? As soon as the answer comes to you, resolve to act upon it. Once a year, once a quarter, and at the beginning of every month ask yourself, “What can I do right now to shine brighter, to add more value, to be more visible in the noisy world of social media?” By asking powerful questions, we are delivered powerful answers (divine guidance you might call it). Here’s another question to ask yourself: What does this current version of me need to learn or do to evolve to the higher level of me? Is it investing in that book or course or event; seeking out a mentor; starting a blog; going live; adding more value in your groups; collaborating with other like-minded girl bosses; creating a mastermind group; teaching a course; writing a book; starting a podcast; diversifying and aligning your social media channels? Building up your network and actively connecting with people, not just hiding behind your computer? Creating a follow up system and actually following up? Learning closing skills? Tracking your numbers? Asking for referrals? Running ads? Being more consistent? All of the above? When you increase your resolve by getting a purpose and by being on purpose, that fire in your belly will burn so bright it will be impossible to ignore it and take action on it. Do not let the whining winds of defeat, distractions, or shiny object syndrome blow you off your course of action. Sometimes easier said than done, but stay focused on your goals and dreams and don’t look left or right. There is no scarcity of opportunity to get to the top, indeed there is plenty of room there for us all. There is however, a scarcity of resolve to make it happen. Most people allow fear and complacency to hold them back, but that’s not you, you’re so much better than that. Resolve to stretch yourself far beyond the plateau of where you are now. It can be terrifying, dizzying even, but you can do so much more than you’re doing now, and you can take yourself so much further than you think you can go. And once you resolve to make a decision, you are going to impact the world in a way only you know how. Never underestimate your power.
  3. Desire. You will get that which is your burning desire in life. Nothing more, nothing less. What keeps you up late at night, what do you dream about, what wakes you up early, what do you ardently wish for? Focus on that, it will drive you beyond your wildest dreams if you feed it, water it and pay attention to it. Where focus goes, energy flows, and you can’t help but become successful when you show up consistently every day on purpose with desire to succeed in your business, nurturing it the same way you would do for your child.
  4. Pain. We make decisions to feel positive emotions and/or to move away from what brings us pain or discomfort. If you are having a tough time getting to the top, attach fear to not reaching the summit and instead work differently to get there. Whatever happens, do not quit, don’t even question that you are on the right path, because you most certainly are. This is the time to boss up, power up, and go find what works on You Tube or Google University. Learn new skills, go in search of new tools, tweak your strategy, seek out a mentor, find the books or courses you need to learn the answers that will get you there faster. Everything is figureoutable. If you want to conquer fear, don’t sit home and think about it. Get busy, get on with it. Pain: expect it, permit it. Every five years there will be upheaval in your life. Let life move you, sure, but keep pressing onwards in spite of and until. You must get there regardless of the pain life brings to test you.
  5. Decision itself. There are extreme consequences whether you make a decision that nothing will stop you from getting to the top, or if you decide to do nothing and allow things to stay as they are. For me there was no in between, there was and is no grey area: it’s black or white. If I’m going to put my heart and soul and effort and time and name to something, it is going to be successful. Maybe not overnight, maybe not even for a few years. But I will never give up, I will show up until. Once you’ve decided to decide, then there is no option except to go all in. And go all in fast, for success loves speed. You must formulate that plan and then get to work on it it every single day. Once you decide, your destiny will also be decided.

I learned this information because I couldn’t go another day stuck in the fear trap. I had to do something, and indecision was eating away at my soul. It wasn’t fair to myself or my family for me to stand still and do nothing. I’m not a tree and neither are you: we can move. If we aren’t happy with our circumstances, we must take responsibility to change them. It’s up to us to make the decision that we will not find ourselves in the same place a year from now that we find ourselves in today.

If you can relate to the emotions that we’re diving into here today, drop a comment below with the emotion that resonates the most with you and let me know that you’re going to take action today to make the decision that could change your life for the better forever. You can catch the replay on this topic here: https://youtu.be/MsVX_MFxp3Y and/or read on to learn about a powerful strategy to give you the belief in yourself and the confidence to take that next step to invest in that business and know without a shadow of a doubt that your success is inevitable because you have a plan in place that will not let you fail. So let’s jump right in, shall we? This information has been a game changer for my business the last few months and will help you take the correct steps for getting started on your journey without throwing spaghetti at the wall the way I did the first couple of years in my business.

It’s called niching down your market to define your target audience. And this strategy works not just in my industry, but for any business that requires marketing. You probably have heard about niching already, but you may not have fully understood the importance of going deeper and applying this right now before you go any further. You will start to see results very quickly like I did.

If you’re marketing to everyone, you’re marketing to no one because your message will be diluted. Instead, by creating your perfect avatar, your target market/audience you will be attracting quality leads, customers, business partners and referrals to you – because they are just like you. It makes writing your content (your posts/lives/stories) so much easier and in a way that’s authentic for your people to follow and understand.

Your avatar, quite simply is who you are right now if you haven’t yet taken that first step to starting a business; or if you have, it’s the person you were the day you said enough is enough and made that decision to move forward as an entrepreneur. For example, my avatar is a mom who works in corporate America and hates her job and is desperate to find a way to work from home around the kid’s schedule. Or she’s a stay at home mom who is looking for something all her own. Her own money, money to contribute to the household. A back up plan in case her husband loses his job (I know how that feels and how stupid and painful it was that we didn’t have a back up plan and spent years playing catch up). She is sick and tired of being sick and tired. She knows there is a better way and she is determined to find it. When she does, she is all in, focused to learn and execute, learn and execute. She’s not afraid to invest in the books, the courses, the events that will take her that much further that much faster. She’s hungry for knowledge and starving for success because she has something to prove to someone – herself. And to show her children what is possible: the world. She won’t back down, won’t make excuses, won’t use the word “try.” She carries on no matter what life throws at her, in spite of and until. Her word is her truth and she shows up even on the days she doesn’t feel like it. She gets the job done because she doesn’t have the luxury of not.

I know her dreams, I know her fears, I know where she hangs out and who she hangs out with What her passions are. I know her because she is the old me. I know what she needs to hear and the message that needs to be conveyed, because I was her, and it’s my obligation to share my journey with her so that she knows if it’s possible for me, it’s possible for her, too. So that she will know there is another, better way. That there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. That it’s okay to build something for herself, to not have to ask for permission anymore, to grow into her greatness and shine bright like the diamond she has always been. And succeed beyond her wildest dreams.

For that reason, all my content is designed to add value to her journey, and therefore everything I post is for her. And you will do the same for your avatar.

What’s happened since I really honed in on this strategy is that in the last two months, I’ve had a mom of six join our team. She’s quit her full time job to go all in with our opportunity, working her business from home so she can spend more time with her kids. She is self-motivated, driven, and rocking her business with no excuses. She is resourceful and seeks out the information she needs to grow her online empire. That is a QUALITY team member who will not be wasting my time; she is already making sales, booking online and offline events, and building her team as she works towards her first big promotion. Another stay at home mom of two has joined our team to work her business from home around their schedule, contribute to the family income and pay for private school for each of the boys. She is also determined and self-motivated to create success, seeks out the strategies and applies them at once. She is coachable and is already seeing results as she too is working towards her first big promotion. Another dynamic woman has just joined our team, an influencer who is 25 and already rocking her online service based business. She wants to have a big family one day and be able to stay home with them, and she is so smart because she is laying the foundation now to be able to do so. And the list goes on: I’ve had two invitations to be a guest speaker on podcasts; and am in conversations about having a feature in a magazine. People every day are reaching out from all over the world to ask more about our products and business opportunity.

My point is, this strategy works. So don’t be afraid of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) on someone who is not in your target market. They may come into your life too, so always keep your door open, but you will find so many more opportunities will appear when you show up for your people consistently. You’ll create a community and tribe of like-minded people reaching out to learn how to work with you, your services or products. This strategy does take work and time, however. You may not have messages flooding your inbox in the beginning on day one, but you will certainly have more engagement as you are building your following, and the results will come. You’ve got to decide to decide to get going, writing out your niche and sharing your journey with them. Having a powerful strategy like this will create belief in yourself and that you are on the right path, and will grow confidence in yourself and your business.

Finally, How to Make a Decision Without Ever Looking Back

by Sarah Rose

If you haven’t downloaded my ebook 7 Core Principals for Getting to the Top in Network Marketing, you can get it here for free: https://sarahroseglobal.lpages.co/freebie. You’ll want to do so ASAP because over the next 7 weeks, we are going to be delving deep into these core principals and why they are important to you in whatever aspect of life you are looking to up-level. You can watch the video here https://youtu.be/uDkQ0lH2egg or read on to learn how to finally make a decision without ever looking back, and that starts with belief. Belief in yourself. That you are worthy. That you are worth it. Belief in yourself that you are resourceful. Belief that if something is doable for one, it is doable for all, for truly why not you have it all? Belief that you can have it all if you’re willing to take a risk and do whatever it takes. Whether that’s embarking on a weight loss or fitness journey; leaving that job or relationship; or getting your side hustle going to have a back up plan for your family’s financial future.

You see, the thing that holds 90% of us back is fear of failure. What if I fail? Well my darling, let me ask you this: what if you fly?

What if every time you felt or thought about worry, stress, anxiety, fear, or doubt, you changed those emotions to belief, faith, fly, soar, succeed? Could you then reframe or overcome just about any situation? The great Joseph Campbell once wrote that the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure that you seek. Whatever we fear, we must conquer, for all good things are just on the other side of breaking through our comfort zones. I hated doing live videos, my heart would pound before I smashed that button, I hated how I looked and sounded, I wondered if my message even made sense or came across as garbled and a waste of someone’s time if anyone was even out there paying attention. That was only a few weeks ago, and an acquaintance messaged me to thank me for showing up consistently with positive messages in a world full of darkness and bad news. She said that my videos were what kept her going some days. And because of that message, I decided to keep showing up. That maybe my optimism and positivity could help someone believe in themselves and make a change, to become a force for good because they were empowered to take action on their dreams. And no matter how much I feared coming off as a failure, I decided to face the fear and do it anyway. And now with time, practice, and going easier on myself, I actually have fun with it, I enjoy it, and although it’s nowhere near perfect yet, I realize I have to suck in order to get good. And we all have to be good to be great. Just keep doing you and believe in the power of self. You have everything you need to succeed, believe that and you are well on your way.

And if you don’t know how to do the thing you want to do or how to take action on that seed of a dream inside your heart, believe that everything is figureoutable. In this gorgeous era of the internet, we have access to countless tools, trainings, systems and mentors who have walked the path before us and gotten the results we desire. Seek a mentor out, and you will cut your fear in half and 10x your results fast and have fun doing it. You must take time to learn, and also to execute. Act at once on the information you have acquired, and by taking one step in front of the other, you will draw closer and closer to the mountaintop.

It’s not always easy to find belief in yourself. However, I didn’t have the luxury of questioning myself or my path. I was guided to it a few years ago when we hit an unexpected financial crisis and I had to go back to work after many years of being a stay at home mom. A traditional 9 to 5 wasn’t going to make a dent in our situation, and I didn’t have an impressive resume anyway. I didn’t have the resources to start a bricks and mortar business. And I refused to give up my time freedom and flexibility of raising my daughter and being there for all the little moments. I wasn’t prepared to miss out on that. I came to the conclusion that network marketing was the only way forward for me, especially having watched my mom earn millions in the industry. Thankfully, I had belief already in the business model. I’d used the products from the company she was with, and was able to avoid a major surgery as a result, so I had belief in the power of the products. I was watching family friends earning six and seven figures a year with the company, traveling the world first class, living life on their own terms. So I had faith in the business. Again, what’s doable for one is doable for all. The only thing I needed was belief in was me. But taking the time to dwell on my own fears of failure felt selfish to me, I needed to put that energy and those emotions into building my business so I could help get our family back on track, get our lives back, and actually get ahead, living the life we had always dreamed of. And although I’ve still a ways to go to get to the top of that mountain, I’m stopping to celebrate every win along the way, no matter how big or small.

Today I encourage you to take a leap of faith. Have that conversation; choose a smoothie over a sandwich; drop on the floor and give me twenty; start that business; buy that book; take that course; do that live video; reach out to that mentor. Do the thing that needs to be done because you believe in taking that first giant leap forward. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but it will be worth it. If you want to know more about my story and how I overcame fear, found belief in myself and how you can do the same, reach out to me in the comments below; or email me at sarah@sarahroseglobal.com; or on Facebook http://m.me/createsuccesswithsarah
